VistaCare Communications is a leading technology solutions provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated MDU Field Supervisor due to a MDU/ FTTH wiring and structured cabling expansion to the west. The MDU Supervisor would be responsible to supervise and manage operation of all of our MDU technicians Ontario wide. The MDU Supervisor position will be permanent, full-time work.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities of workers
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments or subcontractors
  • Requisition and ordering of materials and supplies
  • Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
  • Train or arrange for training of workers
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, termination, performance reviews etc.
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions
  • Prepare work progress reports
  • Manage operations, customer relations, and quality assurance.
  • Collects and reviews timesheets for all employees and monitor daily progress
  • Organizes, lodging, vacations, vehicle repairs and per diems as needed
  • Completes jobsite inspections
  • Scoping the work to look for safety concerns making necessary fixes to engineering and/or applying for appropriate change requests as needed
  • Responds to safety incidents and/or inquiries from workers in a timely manner
  • Investigation of incidents, both safety and non-safety related
  • Manage fleet and material stocking in the Ontario area
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Strong interpersonal skills (including conflict management and managing people)

  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate with off-site internal agents  
  • Self-disciplined, motivated and organized
Experience Required: 
  • 5+ years of directly relatable field experience within the telecommunication industry
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
Additional Requirements: 
  • Valid driver’s license and reasonable driver abstract
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required
  • Travel is required
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
