Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Supervises and manages all subordinate employees on their work site(s)
  • Provides practical employee training and instruction in the field
  • Organizes work schedules, training, lodging, vacations, vehicle repairs and per diems as needed
  • Completes jobsite inspections, and ensures adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Responds to safety incidents and/or inquiries from workers in a timely manner
  • Diligent about safety as it relates to our workers, our customers and the company
  • Responsible for recruitment, disciplinary measures and termination of division employees as necessary
  • Provides coaching and feedback to employees, and seeks out opportunities to assist employees in developing new skills.
  • Completes performance reviews for all subordinate employees.
  • Ability to manage people and build highly motivated and empowered teams
  • Highly organized, ability to effectively prioritize to meet key objectives
  • Passionate about your work and the overall contribution to the team
  • Comfortable in both field and construction yard settings
  • Ability to look at operational processes analytically to ensure efficiency and quality of work
  • Good level of understanding on financial reporting, and ability to produce required project reporting
  • Highly motivated and engaged in the growth and development of the company, our people and our ability to exceed customer expectations
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Thorough knowledge of OSP infrastructure, specifically fiber optics and FTTx
  • Expert technical knowledge in any or all of the following areas:
  • FTTx
  • Line Construction
  • Fiber Splicing
  • MDU
  • Strong interpersonal skills (including conflict management and negotiation)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem solving skills and ability to lead teams through difficult problem analysis resolution
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate with off-site internal agents
Experience Required: 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in operational supervision of both work flow and people, specific to telecommunications
  • Experience with client management and negotiation
  • Experience maintaining a budget and maintaining customer expectations on deliverables
  • Experience managing large coax and fiber optic builds (FTTx)
Additional Requirements: 
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
  • Valid driver’s license and reasonable driver abstract
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required
  • Willingness to travel
