VistaCare Communications is a leading telecommunications solutions provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations.  We are currently seeking motivated candidates to join our operations in Vancouver, BC for permanent, full-time positions as Yard Labourer’s.  Yard Labourer’s are involved in the upkeep of all yards and vehicles as well as the maintenance of all tools and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies, protocols, and procedures and their proper application for safe and efficient completion of all assignments
  • Support a safe, friendly, unified, equitable, and non-discriminatory workplace
  • Complete all forms (i.e. time reports, safety assessments, driver logs) accurately and on time
  • Maintain company assets (i.e. tools, equipment, vehicles, etc.) diligently and prevent negligent loss, theft, or damage
  • Maintain tools and equipment, as per company policies and manufacturer specifications
  • Load and unload materials/equipment into work areas
  • Maintain clean and safe work sites and vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or crew leader
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail
  • Ability to proficiently operate a Forklift
  • Ability to work with exceptional professionalism, interact politely with customers and the public, and demonstrate excellent work ethic
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and blueprints as an asset
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, as well as rural, isolated, and wilderness locations
  • Ability to work continually in a physically demanding atmosphere, must be able to frequently lift and carry 60+ lbs
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
Experience Required: 
  • General construction knowledge
  • Telecommunications infrastructure knowledge
  • Experience handling and installing fibre optic and copper cables as an asset
Additional Requirements: 
  • Valid driver’s license (Required - Class 3 with airbrakes) and clean driver’s abstract
  • Willingness to work out of town, overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs, as required
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to learn, accept challenges, initiative to complete work with minimal oversight within an assigned timeframe, and accept responsibility/ownership for assigned work
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
