VistaCare Communications is a leading technology solutions provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Information Technology Manager to join our operations in Bedford, NS for a permanent, full-time position. The IT Manager is responsible for the coordination, administration and support of the entire IT function and communications equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage information technology, technical support and network administration for the Company’s Canada and US operations;
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations;
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance;
  • Manage subcontracted IT resources such as consultants, programmers, IT support professionals when required for short- or long-term engagements to support IT services;
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate IT related systems, policies and procedures and oversee the communication of such to stakeholders;
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems as well as maintaining the company disaster recovery plans;
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy;
  • Identify problematic areas and to work with key stakeholders to implement strategic solutions on timely basis;
  • Responsible to provide tech support for all company users either through self-perform, team members or subcontractors;
  • Conduct Daily, Monthly, and Quarterly Audit of systems and data integrity in accordance with IT Industry best practices and assess their outcomes;
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness of a current expenditures and planned expenditures;
  • Building security system and user administration;
  • Coordination and maintenance of teleconferencing and video conferencing solutions;
  • Oversight of the company website(s) and management of DNS;
  • Project ownership for IT and future proofing technology. Makes recommendations to management on IT and Communications solutions and improvements;
  • Negotiating pricing and contracts with various vendors, with the support of key stakeholders for IT and Communications equipment and services.
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Ability to stay aware of IT business trends and recommend solutions;
  • Advanced Trouble-shooting skills, recognizes patterns and uses analytical skills to form logical conclusions;
  • Uses sound judgment in making decisions despite obstacles or resistance;
  • Ability to work independently with strong organization, and time management skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Service attitude, coupled with a sense of urgency to provide efficient support for employees, while maintaining a friendly and collaborative approach.
Experience Required: 
  • At least 5 Years managing the Information Technology needs for a Mid-size business is required;
  • Must be experienced with Windows Server 2019;
  • Must be experienced in Office 365 Administration;
  • Must be experienced in  Desktop and Remote Troubleshooting;
  • Experience in Video Conferencing  Systems and Security Camera operations is an asset;
  • Crestron Video Systems Certification is considered an asset;
  • Familiar with CITRIX Systems and Technology is an asset;
  • Technical Degree or Diploma in Information Systems  is considered an asset
