VistaCare Communications’ Integrated Communications Solutions (ICS) Division has grown into a premier contractor and integrator for businesses and government departments across the Maritime provinces for communications cabling, security & life-safety and Pro Audio-Visual projects. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Purchasing Coordinator to join our division in Bedford, Nova Scotia for a permanent position on a full-time basis.

The Purchasing Coordinator will coordinate and execute the administrative process of ordering, tracking and status reporting of all materials needed for sold jobs within the division. The coordinator will handle all administrative functions relating to verifying, preparing and forwarding purchase orders; updating divisional trackers on order statuses and approve associated invoices for payment.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for streamlining the purchasing process and inventory monitoring
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders on a day to day basis
  • Purchasing and tracking inventory for multiple offices and warehouses located across the Maritimes
  • Tracking & Updates to system of supplier pricing, vendor terms, and delivery schedules
  • Creating and maintaining reports to be used internally for record keeping; providing information to the operations, sales and management teams to help with planning and completing projects
  • Work with warehouse coordinator to ensure accurate records of current inventory for circulation to sales and operations teams
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Update Project Leads on the status of orders as needed
  • Liaise with the Warehouse Coordinator and Operations Manager on any issues, delays, backorders with orders
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
  • Knowledge of JONAS is an asset
Experience Required: 
  • Purchasing related experience in a telecommunications, technology or construction environment as an asset
  • Administrative warehouse / inventory management support experience considered an asset
Additional Requirements: 
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
