VistaCare Communications is a leading technology solutions provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced ProAV Programmer to join our National operations in Bedford, Nova Scotia for permanent, full-time position. Working in our Integrated Communications Solutions Division, our ProAV Programmer will work on the following systems and solutions:

  • System Control and Integration (primarily Crestron)
  • Distributed Audio Systems & Digital Sound Processing
  • Audio & Video Conferencing Systems
  • Digital Signage Solutions & Software
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Program creation, development, configuration, commission and testing of AV systems
  • Implement successful solution based on bill of material, technical design and customer expectations
  • Development of GUI’s based on system design, functional technical requirements and user experience expectations
  • Programming and system configuration of Crestron, Q-SYS, Cisco, and Polycom systems
  • Commission and test equipment
  • Interpretation of drawings including architectural, elevation, and schematic drawings
  • Communicate with the customers about the system specifications and functions
  • Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required
  • Attend service calls to troubleshoot systems for customers – diagnose problems and implement solutions
  • Provide excellent customer service
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Job planning according to desired timelines, including the dissection of blueprints from designers
  • Outgoing and friendly personality with the ability to liaise with customers, conduct site surveys and do basic estimating
  • Professionalism and integrity when dealing directly with clients, general contractors and trades
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, requiring very little supervision
  • Self-disciplined, motivated and organized
  • Knowledge of IP networks and the ability to configure IP based system solutions
  • Strong ability and experience in coordinating and motivating team members while verifying completed tasks to provide on-the-job training and mentorship
Experience Required: 
  • 5+ years’ experience in ProAV Programming
  • Manufacturer certifications should include but are not limited to:
    • Crestron CTI-P201 or higher
    • Crestron Smart Graphics (or experience)
    • Crestron CTI-FUSION-P
    • Crestron Digital Media Training: DM-NVX, DM-NVX-N, DMC-E-4K
    • Crestron Audio DSP –
    • Q-SYS Level II
    • Polycom Voice, Video, Microsoft Certification
    • Cisco Video Network Specialist
  • Networking & IP experience; experience within Exchange and Office 365 environments
  • Ability to collaborate with other system programmers as required; lighting, mechanical, security, audio, fire, etc.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience including both people and project management experience
  • CTS Certificate considered an asset
  • Expert level knowledge of ProAV installation practices
  • Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to manage workload and to ensure that jobs are completed on time and on budget.

 

Additional Requirements: 
  • Valid driver’s licence; reasonable driver abstract
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Travel throughout Atlantic Canada may be required
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
