VistaCare Communications is a leading telecommunications and technology provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations. We are currently seeking an experienced Shipper–Receiver to work at our Bedford, NS location. This position is permanent, full-time with competitive wage and company benefits. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Unloading and loading of materials and supplies from courier and delivery vehicles;
  • Receive, sort and track items for processing;
  • Verify counts to customer orders, transfers and packing lists and notify the Warehouse Coordinator of any inconsistencies;
  • Maintains compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and completes appropriate documentation as required;
  • Contacts carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials;
  • Maintain Inventory control – cycle count and participate in any inventory reviews as needed
  • Preparing documentation for shipment of goods
  • Preparing equipment orders for field teams, ensuring accuracy of load;
  • Employ safe load securement procedures;
  • Cleaning and organizing the exterior yard;
  • Use of a forklift or lift device;
  • lifting 50-75 lbs at a time;
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area;
  • Drive Company vehicles as may be needed;
  • Follow Company policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Must be very comfortable with computer operation; 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively;
  • Demonstrated ability to Working at heights;
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination;
  • Carry, raise and climb a ladder;
  • Carry, lift and handle heavy equipment.
Experience Required: 
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Excel, Word, Outlook;
  • Working knowledge of receiving, quality control and shipping practices;
  • Forklift training / certification
  • Customer Service  experience
  • Good grasp of english (written/oral) is required;
  • Must be comfortable working with minimum supervision;
  • Able to balance multiple priorities;
  • Reporting Skills;
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Control procedures;
  • Providing service to others and working with co-workers in a friendly environment;
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, standards and regulations;
  • Knowledge of customs and tariff codes as they relate to trans-border shipping is an asset.
Additional Requirements: 
  • Valid driver’s license with reasonable driver abstract;
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required;
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check.
  • Steel toed boots, CSA approved with ankle support is mandatory.
